3 Myths about Donald Trump his Critics wants you to accept.
The United States President, Donald Trump is undoubtedly the most-talked-about President in the whole world. Hardly a day passes without news of him flooding the internet. ? Well, I can tell you that his critics give him so much publicity for their own good. As they say “no publicity is a bad publicity”
What makes Donald Trump tick? What differentiates him from the others?
I will have you know that the reason the Trump is always on the lips of his critics is because they do not understand him. What you cannot understand nor ignore can drive you insane. People usually appall what they cannot comprehend.
A lot of Donald Trump’s critics have said a lot about him—called him some unprintable names. I am not here to dispute any of their claims as they have rights to their own opinions. As a matter of fact, I am not on either side—Trump’s or his critics. But I am on the side of America.
People have different reasons why they criticize other people: they get a kick out of it; they make good money off of it. All these reasons are good though, in fact, they are great. But at it, you need to ask yourself: ‘are my justified’? ‘Are my rational’?
Some of the claims Donald Trumps’ critics have made so far include:
- He is arrogant.
- He is a narcissist.
- He is stubborn and unapologetic.
- He is a proud man.
Statistics show that no claim is 100% accurate—in every claim there are myths and there facts or truths.
He is arrogant.
It is no gainsay that Trump is dubbed the most Twitter-loving President. He doesn’t go on Twitter to chit-chat; rather he takes to twitter to defend himself against critics. This is not what an arrogant man will do. A powerful man like Trump doesn’t have to respond to his critics unless he actually regards those critics. An arrogant man in position of authority will simply ignore his subordinates when they criticize his style of leadership.
Donald Trump does have his insecurities as clearly stated in this article written by Mr. Joshua Rivera, a Donald Trump critic. But the question is who doesn’t? I for one have my insecurities. Like when I set out to write this article, I was scared that my already cold—low traffic, website will completely freeze over because I know how intensely Americans dislike their President. I was afraid because my second traffic source is the US. But I overcame that fear quickly by letting my heart over rule my head.
Our insecurities come to play when we are anxious to do something right. As phony as it might sound to the ears of you Americans, Trump means well.
There is a particular persona that goes with every title a person carries or public office a person holds. It is a flaw when you expect to relate with your President the way you relate with your friends; he is not your friend, he is your leader.
I was once a personal assistant to my elder sister who once held a public office. When in the office, I address her as Ma’am but at home, address her by her very first name. I am very sure she would have fired me if I dared to address her by her first name while at the office because she has an incredible work ethic.
Come to think of it, it is not an entirely bad idea for a leader to exude an air of arrogance because human beings tend to mistake humility for weakness.
He is a Narcissist.
A narcissist is unfeeling and takes so much but gives little or nothing in return. Before we proceed, let’s take a look at this Donald Trumps’ quote
When somebody challenges you, fight back. Be brutal, be tough.
The above quote gives you an insight into the idiosyncrasy of Donald Trump; he believes in fighting back. He may be a Christian but he doesn’t believe in turning the other cheek when you hit him on the other. Instead, he believes in hitting you hard on both sides of the cheek.
Before you berate Trump a narcissist, first you need to ask yourself how Americans have treated him since he assumed office. Form the quote above, it is obvious what a man like Trump will do when he feels he has his back against the wall—he will fight back. I do not have to live in America to see the dislike for Trump; the internet has an overdose of it. Eminem, in a 4 minute diss track, dissed the heck out of his President. He ended the track with the phrase “I hate you”, wow!
I am well aware that Eminem spoke the mind of many Americans. They “hate” him but they expect him to hug them when they are in distress instead of toss a tissue paper at them. A narcissist asks for what he cannot give, so who is the narcissist here?
I know that a leader is supposed to live by example but he is human too. He needs love and support. And oh, need I tell you that the whole “I hate Donald Trump thingy is becoming a cliché?” it’s boring now. The rest of the world is itching to hear something different from the mouth of Americans about their President. Americans, make that happen.
He is stubborn and unapologetic.
Let us take a look at these three leaders who made an unpopular policy.
- The first leader unmakes the policy and apologizes for it
- The second leader unmakes the policy but doesn’t apologize for it.
- The third leader neither unmade the policy nor apologized for it.
Of these three leaders who is a better leader? I will give it to the second leader.
Truth is, leadership entails making policies—whether a good or a bad policy.
It is imperative that a leader tries as much as possible to avoid making unpopular decision or policies. But peradventure a leader makes a bad policy, all he need do is unmake it, not apologize. Apologizing for making a bad policy as a leader is equivalent to apologizing for doing your job.
Most of the time when people call you ‘stubborn’ it simply means that you are not a push over, cannot be controlled.
Finally, I urge every well-meaning American to look beyond the borders of the United States of America to see the enemy, not within. The United States of America have a lot of enemies but looking at your president, Donald Trump and seeing the enemy is a smoke screen. He is not your enemy he is your leader.
Quit putting your President’s back against the wall because when a person feels he has his back against the wall all he does is try to fight back. But Trump was not elected to be the enemy.
I say it again; America has a lot of enemies. Anybody who tells you your president is your enemy is the enemy and a divider simply applying the law of ‘divided we fall’. No divided house can war and win. Every divided house is already defeated.
Do not think first the color of your skin, instead, think America first. Love and support one other. Love and support you president. Be patriotic. Help sustain the greatness of the United States of America. God bless you.
